Clients : Texaco

Project: eComputex

Company Introduction

Texaco and its affiliates find, develop and produce petroleum and natural gas; manufacture and market fuel and lubricant products; trade, transport and distribute petroleum and gas products

Problem Statement

Texaco eComputex is an Asset Management and Maintenance scheduling application. eComputex was an idea based on an existing application called Computex. Computex is a Desktop Visual Basic Database Application, distributed to a World-Wide customer base on CD-ROM. This method of delivery proved to be impractical due to the reluctance of ‘end-users’ to perform the necessary maintenance upgrades. Therefore, it was considered that a centralised Internet Application could improve service delivery and product stability

Problem Solution

Mosaic was responsible for conducting a study into converting the VB Application into an ‘Online Service’ for Internationalised delivery. The study consisted of performing a functional point analysis of the VB Application, providing recommendation on the suitability/feasibility of implementing each functional point within the context of on an online system
